The first week of school

Well, I can already tell we have a GREAT class! We have been busy learning the routines and following the school expectations in the hall, bathroom, cafeteria and in the classroom this week. Some students have even earned a Howler ticket for showing off their great behavior. In the classroom, students have earned stickers for following directions.

We read a story about a monster that came to school. He didn't understand how to behave in school, and he caused some problems. Then, he learned about following rules and did a wonderful job. We decided to discuss our classroom rules, so we would not have any monsters in our class!

We took a little tour of our school to learn about various places and special helpers in our school. We visited the library, office, computer lab, and the nurse.

Thank you very much for turning in all of the required paperwork so quickly! The nurse was thrilled when I handed her all of our pink information forms. A BIG thank you for making sure your child came to school wearing the green tags. That is such a help to ME and it also is a safe way to make sure your child will be in the correct dismissal location at the end of the day! Also, thanks to the parents that have been coming in during lunch to help the students. We also had two moms that signed up to be homeroom moms, so thank you Mrs. Claycamp and Mrs. Miller! They will contact parents during the year about certain events or ways to help out.

I am looking forward to Parent Night next Tuesday night.
