Last Wednesday was the 100th Day of school.  We had a big 100 banner stretched across our doorway that the students had to crawl through - that was fun! We also celebrated by making a 100 piece snack, drawing  100 gumballs, and racing to get to the number 100 on a hundreds chart.

We are beginning our unit on rocks, sand and soil.  We will be talking about the properties of rocks... size, color, shape, and texture.  We will discuss water clarity and the characteristics of sand and soil.

We will be delving into media literacy as well.  We will be looking at commercials and advertisements to see how print, colors, sounds, and movement influence people to buy a product.

In math, we will be creating and studying graphs.

New reading books will be sent home this week since I have completed the mid-year district assessments.
