Last week, we reviewed traditional tales by reading different versions of The Gingerbread Boy/Man. It was fun comparing the different versions to see what happened to the cookie. We created a simple gingerbread house with a gingerbread baby inside so that your child would remember to retell the Gingerbread Baby story at home.
In writing, we have been working on How To stories. We published our How To stories and added them to our reading folders.
In math, we will continue to problem solve.
Next Thursday, we will have a Polar Express day. The children may wear their pajamas to school. Have your child wear tennis shoes first thing in the morning since we have P.E. that day. After P.E., they may change into slippers if they wish to bring a pair. All of the kindergarten classes will board an imaginary train in the hall to hear Mr. Whitfield read the Polar Express book. Should be a fun day.
Our Winter party will be next Friday, December 16th, from 12:30 - 1:30. Then, we will have recess, snack, pack up and dismiss. A sign out sheet will be available in the classroom if you plan to take your child home after the party.
December 19th - January 2nd is our Winter break. School will resume on January 3rd. I hope you all have an enjoyable and restful break!
